Surge and Sway

Long travel available – 4m standard, longer as special order

High velocity – up to 5m/s in the ground plane, allowing sustained accelerations

Direct drive – linear motors for optimal frequency response

Accelerations are sustainable throughout the motion space - not compromised by position or velocity


Yaw

+/-180° of motion gives more realistic feel for high yaw rates 

1:1 yaw motion possible for many scenarios

direct drive – motor-gearbox acts directly on turntable

integrated cable management – cable chain routed through mechanism for high speed running


  

Heave, Pitch and Roll

Efficient kinematics – 3 degrees of constraint and 3 degrees of freedom using 3 motion axes 

Optimised design – fewer parts than our previous motion bases, but higher performance and higher stiffness

Direct action – minimum number of compliant elements in drive path for improved frequency response
