What is vehicle deviation
"The steering wheel is deflected to one side, as if there is a force pulling the steering wheel to one side. You must exert force in the opposite direction to maintain a straight line, and then let go a little and then deflect to one side." This should be a scene that many experienced drivers have experienced. That is what we often say the vehicle deviates. The deviation is that the car runs in a straight line on a flat road and deviates to one side by itself, resulting in the phenomenon that the connection between the center of the front and rear axles is inconsistent with the center line of the driving track. The harm of deviation should not be underestimated. The tires and tires are scrapped, and in severe cases, dangerous situations such as tire blowouts and vehicle loss of control may occur.
2. The national regulations on the vehicle deviation requirements
As one of the common problems in the process of vehicle driving, deviation not only seriously affects the driver's driving experience, but also brings serious safety hazards to the vehicle and passengers. Article 6.7 of GB 7258-2017 "Technical Conditions for Motor Vehicle Operation Safety" clearly stipulates that motor vehicles should not deviate when driving on flat, hard, dry and clean roads, and their steering wheels should not have vibration, poor road feel or other anomalies. According to the mandatory requirements of this standard, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology also issued a recommended standard GB/T-38679-2020 "Vehicle Deviation Test Method" specifically for the vehicle deviation test in 2020, which provides a test method for the vehicle deviation test. technical basis. The standard explicitly gives the following definitions:
Deviation: the vertical distance that the vehicle deviates from the axis in the direction of travel at the starting point of measurement;
Running angle: the difference between the angle between the vehicle's driving direction and the road centerline at the starting point and the end point of the vehicle measurement;

3. Professional equipment for deviation test Infomagix VDTS

According to the requirements of the regulations, set the vehicle test speed (such as 60km/h), the stable running distance before sampling (such as 40m), and the sampling distance (such as 60m). After the settings are completed, you can Enter the test preparation state, then accelerate the vehicle to the test speed, release the steering wheel, and let the vehicle travel 40m to eliminate the influence of the driver's residual force on the steering wheel on the vehicle deviation test. In order to use the vehicle off-line to detect the deviation, VDTS is also equipped with special server software.
